Artificial Intelligence (AI) is described as the introduction of an intelligent agent in form of a machine. It mimics "cognitive" functions that humans associate with other human minds, such as "learning" and "problem-solving".

AI makes something that has been comparatively expensive abundant and cheap: We now can make accurate predictions based on vast quantities of generated and processed data which wasn’t accessible or reasonably processible previously. This is certainly changing our way of thinking, interacting within the society or the environment but of course how we do business.

The other side of the coin is the risk comprised in these developments. Starting with ethical concerns we also need to address the challenges through the immense technical influences that AI is having on our lives. The recent developments in AI are likely to change the workplace and make jobs disappear - or not? It certainly is or will affect the way we do investments or create state of the art philanthropic projects. We need to understand more about these dynamics and where AI generates a (temporary) threat but also where it delivers the most value.

At the event, we will address the technological changes that are taking place at a faster and faster pace and their implications on philanthropists, professional wealth advisers, and social investors. In presenting concrete cases particularly in health and education we will reflect on the positive outcomes within a set framework of clear ethics and rulings of interacting with AI but also point out the biggest challenges.
