Funding website launches dedicated area for funders

News

A new dedicated area for funders and loan finance providers was launched last week as a free service on Funding Central, the website run by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

The Funder Zone will be an exclusive password-protected area that features a range of online tools designed to give funders insight into what frontline organisations are saying about their funds on the Funding Central website. The tools will enable them to share information about their programmes with other funders and to disseminate best practice. Users will be able to add new funding and finance opportunities plus hints and tips to improve the application process for fund-seekers.

The Funder Zone also features an ‘analytical dashboard’ that allows funders to view headline figures of the level of online fundraising activity that is relevant to their funds.

Graham Collins, sustainable funding programme manager at NCVO, said funders “are keen to know how their programmes are viewed by applicants and equally keen to improve the process – now they can and do so in one place.”

Funding Central, which was launched in June 2009, has over 8,800 registered users.

NCVO’s head of research, Karl Wilding, has also set up a blog this month. It discusses various aspects of the voluntary and community sector, including charitable giving. Readers can register on the NCVO website to comment on the blog.
