This breakfast session will explore the key issues and possible solutions related to cross-border giving, with particular reference to Canada, the EU, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. Panel speakers will give consideration to matters of due diligence, legal aspects, regulatory issues, privacy, safeguarding funds, taxation and oversight of the donation, equipping you with the information you need to know to help your clients.

  • Appropriate due diligence
  • Taxation; the availability of reliefs, ability to export funds and minding of local restrictions
  • Legal aspects, and consideration of public benefit
  • Regulatory issues, and issues relating to privacy
  • Securing the transfer and safeguarding the application of funds
