News (UK)

Following the growth of Philanthropy studies in UK higher education, namely through centres at Kent, Plymouth and Cass Business School, the UK’s first dedicated university philanthropy teaching post has been appointed.

Following a donation of £156,000 from the Pears Foundation to the University of Kent, Dr Triona Fitton will take up the appointment as the first Pears Philanthropy Fellow. She will be based within the University's Centre for Philanthropy. Dr Fritton will lead the launch of the University’s new MA in Philanthropic Studies, which is due to welcome its first students in January 2016.
