Philanthropy Impact seeks new Trustees from within UK and/or EU with the following expertise and experience:

1.       Experience as a professional wealth adviser.

2.       Knowledge of or experience in multi-family office.

3.       Knowledge of philanthropy and the philanthropic environment in the UK and continental Europe (especially cross-border giving).

4.       Personal experience of and reputation for philanthropic giving and/or social investment

Philanthropy Impact’s vision is a world where wealthy individuals and families engage in philanthropy and social investment, supported by advisers who are knowledgeable about the field. Our mission is to increase philanthropic giving and social investment by developing the skills and knowledge of professional advisers about philanthropy and social investment. We deliver our mission by providing activities to support our members and key stakeholder such as:

  • Events: a comprehensive programme of events including

o    Networking among philanthropy and professional advisers

o    Publications and Research: developing our ‘body of knowledge’

§  How-to best practice guides

§  Technical content & analysis

§  Case studies

§  Philanthropy Impact Magazine

§  Market research

  • Philanthropy Impact Public Affairs

o    Advocacy: lobby for policies and regulations that encourage philanthropic giving and social investment

o    Policy position submissions and papers

o    Engagement with Government and key policy stakeholders

  •   Services: developing services and products designed to enhance professional advisers’ ability to meet their client needs for support on their philanthropic and social investment journey

Philanthropy Impact is a unique international membership organisation. It is a UK Registered Charity (1089157) and Company Limited by Guarantee (England & Wales) (3625777). The organisation operates throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, and works in partnership with leading companies and organisations within the philanthropy arena. In the last financial year Philanthropy Impact presented 20 events featuring national and international experts involving over 700 participants.

Trustees play an active in role in the governance and support of this effective and growing organisation. Trustees are encouraged to participate on sub-committees (Finance, Governance & Nominations, Body of Knowledge, Public Affairs or Fundraising). Trustees also attend Philanthropy Impact events throughout the year, and where appropriate may host such events themselves. A trustee term is three years, with potential for a further three year term.

The Board meets four times a year and is chaired by Grant Gordon. Attendance can be via conference call. Meetings are held in English.

In the covering letter please describe why you are interested in becoming a Trustee or Chair of Philanthropy Impact, and what you believe you would contribute to the organisation and the Board.
