Pilotlight to expand nationwide

News

Venture philanthropy charity Pilotlight, which offers free business advice to charities, has announced plans to expand over the next three years to achieve a nationwide reach. In September, it opened an office in Scotland. It is also carrying out a feasibility study in Wales and the West Country with the prospect of opening another office. Within three years it hopes to have four offices in total, including its highly successful London office.

So far the organisation has helped over 100 small charities by putting together teams of business entrepreneurs to work with them on issues such as business planning, fundraising and governance. Research, conducted by Guidestar, indicates that there are over 40,000 small charities or social enterprises nationwide that could benefit from Pilotlight’s model.
