Standard Chartered Private Bank launches new philanthropy programme

News

A new philanthropy programme launched by the Standard Chartered Private Bank this month will offer clients philanthropy advice, allow them to co-invest with the bank in projects that aim to prevent avoidable blindness, and enable them to volunteer with charities around the world.

The ‘Investing for a Better Future’ programme offers clients access to three philanthropic opportunities:

  • Seeing is Believing: clients can partner with the bank and give directly to Seeing is Believing (SiB), a global campaign to tackle avoidable blindness, starting with a project in Kolkata, India. Standard Chartered will match every donation to SiB, up to a collective $20m (£12.2m) total.
  • Advisory Service: aimed at clients who require strategic advice on their philanthropic giving, with guidance from internal and external experts.
  • Education and Involvement: clients can undertake voluntary internships at a number of charities and community projects around the world.

Jacqui Brabazon, global head of marketing, philanthropy and key clients at the bank, said, “At Standard Chartered, we believe that with wealth comes responsibility and together with our clients we want our individual action to make a collective difference.”
