A live weekly TV bingo game starting on 13th September will help charities across England through a 20% donation from sales of a £2 game card that viewers use to play along.

BingoLotto, which will air on Virgin1 and be presented by Ulrika Jonsson, will work in partnership with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) to distribute the funds to voluntary and community organisations across the UK.

A pilot series of BingoLotto in 2008 raised over £100,000 which has already been distributed to sports and recreation bodies.

Richard Williams, NCVO’s director of enterprise, said, “This is a tremendously exciting opportunity. We look forward to a longstanding relationship which will provide funds to the most vulnerable in our society.”

Voluntary and community organisations who have been a member of NCVO for at least one year and who operate on a non-profit basis will be able to register for BingoLotto funding.

The gamecards will be available exclusively at Tesco from 7 September 2009.
