Increasing charitable giving - what can we learn from economics? (2012)

The 2011 government White Paper declared that "giving is good" and that "people want to do more and could do more" (HM Government, 2011).

This report provides an economic perspective on some of the ideas to stimulate a higher level of UK giving in the White Paper. It aims to bring together some recent evidence that is relevant to the proposals in the White Paper for increasing charitable giving in the UK.
