Plantlife is the only UK based international charity focused solely on the conservation of plants and fungi in their natural habitats. Our mission is to secure a world rich in plants and fungi. Our key leadership areas are:

  1. Grasslands – We help restore and manage remaining grasslands through community engagement, lobbying for protective legislation and offering land management advice.
  2. Temperate rainforest – These rare habitats are under threat – Plantlife works to ensure their protection and long term resilience.
  3. Species recovery – We lead recovery prgrammes for threatened plants and fungi.
  4. Global action – We speak up for wild plants and fungi internationally, calling for stronger commitments to native species restoration in climate and biodiversity strategies.

Established in 1989, Plantlife now has nearly 25,000 members and is supported by more than 2,000 volunteers. We manage 24 nature reserves covering 4,500 acres of land across England, Scotland, Walkes and Isle of Man.
