Wednesday 14th April, 10:30am to noon
After the Haitian earthquake in January, generous individuals around the world used their mobile phones to give over $40m (£26.9m) to aid organisations. More than $1bn (£673m) in gifts came in the next four weeks, a large percentage of which was donated online.
While the philanthropic world is only just beginning to feel the reverberations of the digital changes so familiar to the music, film and publishing industries, we can expect the impact to be significant.
