The Bridgewater Foundation

We're looking for two new trustees to join our board this year. We'd particularly welcome people with experience in grant-making, safeguarding or charity law, but an interest in our work matters most.

The Bridgewater Foundation funds early-intervention projects for families in the south west, distributing around £800,000 a year to local charities and community groups.

Our board of eight meets five times a year, split between Exeter and online, with papers shared a week ahead. New trustees get a full induction, a visit to funded projects in their first six months, and a board mentor for the first year.

We're actively trying to broaden the range of experience around our table, and we'd encourage first-time trustees to get in touch — the role is genuinely open to people who haven't sat on a board before.
